A visitor Visa is also known as a temporary resident Visa. The Canada tourist Visa is an official document, which is placed inside the passport. This displays that the individual meets the requirements needed to enter Canada for a certain period of time (this is generally 6 months).Most people who travel are required to have a visitor visa to Canada which can be applied for online or in paper. There are two types of Canada visitor visas; single entry visa and multiple entry visa.
Visitor Visa eligibility criteria
To get visitor visa to Canada, you must:
- have good health
- Have a valid passport
- Have no criminal or immigration related convictions
- Have enough money for your stay
- Convince an immigration officer that you have ties that will take you back to your home country e.g. work, home, financial assets
- Convince and immigration officer that you will leave Canada at the end of your visitation period
- Have enough money for your stay in Canada
- May need a medical exam or letter of invitation from someone who lives in Canada
- May need a police clearance certificate
